NXP Semiconductors ha comunicato che acquisterà Freescale per $11,8 miliardi, per dare vita ad una joint venture del valore di 40 miliardi dollari. L’operazione creerà il maggiore produttore mondiale di semiconduttori per il settore automotive.
In base all’accordo gli azionisti di Freescale riceveranno per ogni loro azione $6,25 in contanti e 0,3521 azioni di NXP. Inclusi i debiti di Freescale il volume della transazione sarà pari a $16,7 miliardi.
NXP si attende che l’acquisizione del gruppo rivale contribuirà ad aumentare il suo utile per azione già nel primo anno. I risparmi sui costi dovrebbero ammontare a $200 milioni nel primo anno e a $500 milioni nel futuro.
